St Peter and St Paul’s is part of a ‘group ministry’ which means that we no longer have a dedicated vicar attached to the church but share ministers and lay readers with the neighbouring parishes of Hoo, Cliffe and High Halstow.

Whilst the church is open every Sunday for service we are open at other times only by appointment or on special event days, many of which are currently being planned. If you are have a community group wishing to visit us please use the Contact-Us page to arrange this with the Church warden and to see where we are – we would be very pleased to welcome you to our church.

The church is building new links with local schools and community groups who are interested in the heritage of the church. Some of the churches many fine features are being used as part of primary curriculum studies with the Stoke Community Primary School, in Lower Stoke. We are also talking with the Hundred of Hoo School about pupils visiting the church as part of their secondary curriculum studies.

See the Education/Community page for photographs of school visits and to find out what pupils have been doing back at school as a result of their church visits, which began early in 2014.

You will see from the photographs on the Restoration page that the works required to stabilise the churches foundations, repair the roof, and carry out other remedial work is substantial, but the support for keeping such a beautiful Grade 1 listed church open and available for it’s community is growing all the time. And we would like to do more! More activities with school and community groups, more open days, more repairs.
